Privacy notice
Short version: I keep what I need to reply to you and play your gig, I do not sell or share it, and there are no tracking cookies on this site.
Who I am

What I collect and why
- Enquiries. Name, phone, email, event date, venue and anything you write in the form, chat or WhatsApp. Used to quote, confirm and play your booking. Kept in a secure database while the enquiry or booking is live and for up to two years afterwards for repeat bookings and accounts.
- Gig alerts. Your email address, used only to tell you about upcoming public gigs. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also just reply "stop".
- Reviews. If you leave a review through the site, the name and words you submit may be shown publicly once approved.
- Email open and click data. Booking and gig emails are sent through a transactional email service that records opens and clicks so I know a message arrived.
Analytics
The site records page views and clicks on the enquiry, call and WhatsApp buttons in an aggregate counter. It sets no cookies, stores no IP address and does not identify you.
Who handles the data
The enquiry database, email sending and website hosting are run by established service providers under their standard data-processing terms. The chat assistant on the home page sends what you type to an AI service to draft a reply; do not put card details or anything sensitive in it. Nothing is sold or passed to anyone for marketing.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask what I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its use. Email hello@samhackneymusic.co.uk and I will sort it within a month. If you are unhappy with how I have handled your data you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
