Acoustic wedding singer in Stoke-on-Trent
I am Sam Hackney, a solo acoustic singer and guitarist from the Potteries. Most weekends I am the live music in a pub or club somewhere in North Staffordshire, which is exactly why I am good at weddings: I know how to get a room singing and when to leave it alone.
A wedding singer who plays live every week
A lot of wedding acts do a handful of bookings a year. I play in front of real crowds in pubs and clubs across Stoke-on-Trent, Newcastle-under-Lyme and the surrounding towns most weeks of the year, and I bring that to your day: a set list built from what actually gets people up, read against the room in front of me, not a fixed show.
It is one voice and one guitar, acoustic, with a proper PA so it fills a barn or a marquee as easily as a back room. Songs from the 60s to now, a few of my own, and your song learned for you.
How the day can work
Book one part or all of them. Timings are flexible and I will work them out with your venue.
Why couples book direct
- No agency in the middle. You speak to me, you get me, and the price is mine rather than mine plus a commission.
- One song learned free. First dance, a parent's favourite, the song from the night you met.
- Everything brought and set up. PA, lighting, PAT certificates and public liability insurance for your venue.
- Sets built with you. Tick your songs on the song picker and they land in your enquiry.
- Local. Based in Stoke-on-Trent, so venues across North Staffordshire, South Cheshire and North Shropshire are home turf, not a long-distance booking.
Wedding venues and towns I cover
Stoke-on-Trent and its six towns, Newcastle-under-Lyme, Keele, Trentham, Barlaston, Stone, Leek, Cheadle, Kidsgrove, Biddulph and Alsager as standard, then out across Staffordshire, Cheshire and Shropshire. Further afield by arrangement.
Questions couples ask
How much does a wedding singer cost in Stoke-on-Trent?
I quote each wedding individually because a ceremony-only booking and a full day are very different jobs. Tell me the date, the venue and which parts of the day you want covered and I will come back with a price, usually the same day. No agency fee: you book me direct.
Can you do the whole day?
Yes. Ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast, first dance and evening party, or any mix of those. Most couples pick two or three parts.
Will you learn our first dance?
Yes, and it is free. Send me the song when you book. If it is one that does not translate to solo acoustic, I will tell you honestly and suggest a way round it.
Do you need anything from the venue?
A bit of floor space and a plug socket. I bring a professional PA and lighting, all PAT-tested, and I carry public liability insurance, which most venues ask to see.
Can we choose the songs?
Use the song picker on the home page to tick what you want and add it to your enquiry. I build the sets around your list and read the room on the night for the rest.
How far ahead should we book?
Saturdays in summer go a year or more ahead, and my pub diary fills early too. If you have a date, check it now; there is no obligation in asking.
